While the brand constantly innovates and strives to better a person's skincare routine and the ultimate result, Neutrogena is a brand that even dermatologists in Dubai recommend. Years ago, when I visited one, she recommended the Pink Grapefruit body wash to me as I had a breakout of nasty zits only on my left shoulder blade (weird, I know). I was skeptical because I expected a chemical infused hospital grade cream to be recommended to me. Instead, the doc suggested something mild that would do the job.
She was right, because the zits disappeared within a 30 day period and I was also prescribed an allergy treatment. I think both worked to deliver on clean skin. Fast forward to 2016. An invite for the latest, Hydro Boost range popped into my inbox. I didn't hesitate to RSVP and soon enough I was talking to the people who knew the brand best.
Living in a country such as the UAE, our skin is exposed to temperamental weather. We have extreme summers and blink-and-you-will-miss winters. Both weather conditions tend to suck out precious moisture from our skin. This is where Neutrogena's Hydro Boost range steps in to the rescue (pretty much like a superhero). The range was designed specifically to replenish skin with ample moisture and contains Hyaluronic Acid, which helps keep the skin supple and hydrated.
Micellar water is all the rage and Neutrogena came up with a nifty idea of a product that not only cleanses but also hydrates, simultaneously. The Hydro Boost Micellar Water cleanses makeup and impurities in one swipe (for minimal make up users) whilst locking in moisture into the skin. It's a light weight cleanser (if the word 'water' in Micellar water does not give you an idea, this will) and does the job effectively. Just like all the Micellar water available across the globe, it is not necessary to wash the face (but I do it anyway).
The Hydro Boost Water Gel works in a slightly different way. Unlike the Micellar water, you need to use this as a standard cleanser i.e. wet the face, massage the cleanser into the skin and wash it off. I use this on days when I have gone for long hours with makeup on (read: slightly heavier/waterproof makeup). My skin is squeaky clean and I end my routine with the Cream Gel. Let me take a moment to state that I love this moisturizer.
Instantly absorbed by the skin, this light weight moisturizer is fragrance and oil-free, hence suitable even for sensitive skin. The moisturizer is a definite winner in my books as it keeps the dry patches on my face that I get every now and then, at bay.
If you aren't a fan of the Micellar water or Water Gel cleanser, try the Cleansing Facial Wipes. Whoever came up with the invention of makeup wipes, must be rewarded. These are the most handiest makeup remover ever and are specially helpful after those evenings of staying out late. I genuinely don't have the energy to use different cleansers/ toners after a late night and want to wipe off the makeup in an instant. That's when these wipes come into play. They are effective and contain the same skin benefiting elements as that of its counterparts.
If you are looking to change your skincare products, give the Hydro Boost a go. You will not be disappointed.
My favorite out of the range? Hands down, the Cream Gel.
Neutrogena is available at major stockists across the UAE.
I completely agree with the cream gel moisturizer.. I have been using for the past 3 days and my skin is loving it... I basically go for oil free based moisturizer and until late now was using The Face Shop's Green Tea Emulsion, which is still my favorite... but this Cream gel is the next best.
