The Launch of Namshi's SpringSummer '17 Collection

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

If you live in the GCC and aren't aware of Namshi.com, then you've been living under a rock. Having said that, I love Namshi. It's one of those online shopping websites that can do no wrong (atleast in my books). They are hassle and drama free, stock some of the best local and international brands (hello Topshop!) and have free (prompt) delivery + returns. Can they get any better than that?

Yes, they can and they did with the launch of their Spring/Summer '17 collection. Did I mention how much I love Namshi? I want almost everything from the new round of clothing, accessories and shoes. I love how they have incorporated some of the (intimidating) trends straight off the catwalk and made it easy to wear. I don't know who their styling team is. They do such a good job, it makes me want to impulse buy.

Summer is usually the time I tend to spring clean and buy a few pieces here and there. And Namshi makes it so much easier. Whether it's the beach or a dinner gathering, the online shopping site has you covered. From pastel tops to bright bottoms and everything in between, here's a look at the funky (and elegant) SS'17 collection. Also, find out how you can get a 10% discount off your order.

Puma's Spring/Summer '17 Collection Launch

Sunday, February 12, 2017

I've talked about my never ending love for Puma previously. It's a favorite of mine and I eagerly look forward to each collection they launch. There's something about Puma that other brands within the same segment just don't capture.

You can't replicate Puma. Their uniqueness most likely comes from the DNA of the brand and how it has drastically shifted the needle when it comes to sports and athleisure wear. I've been using Puma for a long time now and it's one of the few brands that actually motivate me to work-out constantly. I mean, how wonderful is their women's sports and training collection?

Puma launched their Spring/Summer '17 collection and my favorite? Easily the Swan Pack range. It's not because it is endorsed by a celeb, it's the design and color palette that caught my attention and made me fall in love with it instantly.

C.Wonder Launches In Dubai, UAE

Thursday, March 20, 2014

Let me start off by saying I'd like to purchase almost every single thing at the C.Wonder. Now, let's talk about the store.

C.Wonder is the brainchild of Christopher Burch (designer Tory Burch's ex-husband) and first opened its doors in New York, USA. Fast forward to three years and the UAE witnessed C.Wonder launch it's first Middle East store in Mall of the Emirates.

One look at the store and it will instantly put you in a good mood. The use of color, the interiors, the clothes, shoes, accessories, home decor, and more will make you create a mental wishlist while gawking at the wallets and bracelets. C.Wonder also offers monogramming and other personalized items. It's pretty cool to have you initials monogrammed on a C.Wonder handbag.

Here are my favorites:

I absolutely love these. The honeycomb detailing make the shoes look pretty! This was the first thing that landed on my wishlist.

It was accessories galore on fellow blogger, Ekta's hand. Love the cork bracelets!

This striped jacket seals the deal. It will complete an outfit in a jiffy!

More favorites...

All this and more are available at C.Wonder, Mall of the Emirates. Head down there today and let me know what you got. I know I'll be getting those honeycomb pumps.

Shopping Deals With MasterCard

Tuesday, December 24, 2013

Are you still stumped in terms of what presents to get your family members, friends and others? If your ‘Gift Ideas’ list looks like a blank paper, fear not, as I’m here to save the day (like Batman). At least I’ll try and by the end of this post, you should have a good idea of what you will be gift wrapping.

How do these sound- special offers, free shipping, discounts and the likes? For those who like to shop online like me, free shipping is a bonus. When items from wishlists go on sale, it’s an even bigger bonus (whip out that credit card and never look back!).Thanks to MasterCard, shopaholics have access to online discounts, free returns, discounted/free shipping and more from select merchants such as Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Gilt and more.

Purchase your favorites by Dec 31, 2013 using your MasterCard credit card, enter the code MCSHOP at checkout and you will be entitled to redeem the fab offers!

Since my wishlist is larger than life, I browsed Bloomingdales, J.Crew, Neiman Marcus and Gilt. All of them have crazy discounts and offers. J.Crew for me is synonymous to gorgeous statement necklaces (which are not available in the UAE), Gilt always has some seriously special deals on shoes, bags and dresses; Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus have the best selection when it comes to…well, everything. I looked around for hours on what to buy because all of them had items with prices slashed to the ‘are-you-kidding-me’ level.

I finally made a purchase; this was after sitting next to mum for about 30 mins straight, nudging her to give me feedback on every single item that was in my shopping cart, cancelling a few items, adding those back to the cart...well, you get the idea. After using the MCSHOP code, I received confirmation on my order. It was a pretty smooth experience and even better when I am not being charged for shipping (hurray!).

Now that I know about these special offers like the back of my hand, I shall lead you into the world of a few of my favorites and recommendations.

How incredibly beautiful is this Carolina Herrera dress? It had my name written all over it, even before I saw it. I love the flared dress and the scattered sequins. It would usually cost you AED 25,557/ US$ 6,946, but now you only pay AED 4,262/ US$ 1,161. Available at Gilt.

This lilac flower necklace is apt for all seasons. Available at J.Crew for AED 444/ US$ 121 (original price: AED 977/ US$ 266).

This has to be the prettiest cuff ever! Available at J.Crew for AED345/ US$94 (original price: AED 484/ US$ 132).

I love shoes and have a growing collection of flats. So, when I saw this silver glittery(!) pair of DKNY flats slashed to AED 183/ US$ 50 from the original AED 458/ US$ 125, I couldn’t resist adding it to the shopping cart. Available at Bloomingdales.

Another pair of red hot shoes from Ivanka Trump slashed to AED 183/ US$ 50 from the original AED 458/ US$125. Major bargain at Bloomingdales!

Love these skinny denims print. Now available for AED 877/ US$ 239 vs original AED 1,254/ US$ 342. Available at True Religion.

Gorgeous Tory Burch wallet was previously priced at AED770/ US$ 210. Now available for AED 402/ US$ 110. Available at Neiman Marcus.

This is a small list of what’s available. Remember, in order to be eligible for different offers from participating merchants, you must use your MasterCard credit card and use MCSHOP at checkout.

Happy shopping and let me know what you got!

Louboutin x Walt Disney

Sunday, July 8, 2012

How many remember this scene from Walt Disney's Cinderella?

How about this one?

It's the scene where the Prince's men go around each house to see if a particular glass slipper fits.

When I first read that famous shoe designer Christian Louboutin was recreating Cinderella's glass slippers, I rolled my eyes. Really. I wasn't excited. It would just be another pair of shoes with red soles.

But I was gobsmacked when I saw the image of the actual shoes and just had to give my opinion about it. See for yourself!

The shoes are made out of sheer lace, Swarovski encrusted butterflies and more Swarovski crystals.  It's a little more on the bling side of the things (near the heels) but I admit- these shoes capture the essence of 'beautiful'...just like Cinderella. I love butterflies any way (see the image header at the starting of the blog? It has butterflies) so anything with butterflies is alluring to me.

Just a thought though- one would usually wear these type of shoes with an evening gown or wedding gown(?) which practically conceals your feet. So how are people going to see those gorgeous pair of heels?

All in all, I think these are a winning pair. Although I won't buy it right away (like I said, these shoes according to me should be saved for that one BIG event) I'm definitely going to go try them on. Christian Louboutin is available at Dubai Mall and I'm guessing these shoes will arrive sooner or later at the store if not available already.

Shoe Sundays: New Look

Sunday, July 1, 2012

I bought these while at New Look sometime ago. The camera doesn't do justice to the color- it's a dark emerald green; more like forest green. Shoe material is suede.
*Pics are a bit grainy- they were taken through the phone.

Shoe Sundays: Kurt Geiger

Sunday, June 24, 2012

Spotted the dalmatian shoe print at Kurt Geiger, Dubai Mall. These aren't flats as such, they have a little wedge like heel (you can notice it in the picture). I found the print cute- it reminds me of a dress I had while at school (which my friends made fun of haha).

Shoe Sundays: Kurt Geiger

Sunday, April 29, 2012

Spotted these at the Kurt Geiger store in Dubai Mall a few weeks back. Grey glittery flats with beige detailing. I've seen a lot of golden and silver glitter flats but not grey.

My Wardrobe, one of the top online shopping boutiques recently threw a party to celebrate the launch in the Middle East. The weather was great, I got to catch up with friends and also the lovely people   involved with this launch including the CEO, Sarah Curran and Emily from Fashion Foie Gras.

My Wardrobe is one of the sites I visit either for picking some statement pieces or going through the latest trends. They offer designer clothes, accessories, shoes and lots more for both men and women. You won't be disappointed- so go check it out! Here are memories of the launch captured through the lens:

Met a friend after a few years who is now a DJ and does his own music stuff at events!

No party is complete without the sweet stuff! Those are Chocolate coated Oreo truffles and cake pops

Shoe Sundays: Charlotte Olympia

Sunday, December 4, 2011

Yes, my obsession with shoes doesn't end. Neither the obsession with black and gold. This week, it's Charlotte Olympia shoes. I want! Both of these.

Shoe Sundays: Muted Metallic Gold

Sunday, November 27, 2011

This is the first series of shoe madness and you will see one every Sunday or whenever I see good looking shoes. I love shoes, in fact I bought so many this year (about 9 in total and some are still in their original packaging) I have taken it on myself not to buy any more shoes or flats or heels until Jan next year. Oh, I spotted an amazing pair of leopard print Tory Burch flats...

So, today's post features my friend, Nagham and her purchase from River Island. She wore these pretty cool pair of flats that had a metallic gold shine on them- it's not too much or too less of shine, it's about enough to make a pair of flats look gorgeous. And on the plus side, these flats can very much make your entire outfit look fab!

Available at River Island

L.K. Bennett store opens in Dubai

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

I've been looking for the perfect pair of nude heels forever. Whenever I spot a pair, either the color is not right (too beige-ish) or the size isn't available. It either that or the heel length is either too short or way too long. At times, it's all the options mentioned.

So when I heard that a.L.K. Bennett store opened in Dubai's Mirdif City Center recently, the first thing that came to my mind was- you guessed it- nude heels! The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has been photographed wearing L.K. Bennett nude heels regularly called 'Sledge' (I have no idea why that name!) and I was on a lookout for such a pair!

The color is great, the heel is the right length, totally in love with this pair. I know where I'll be shopping over the weekend!
