Puma: Redefining Sports Style

Saturday, March 12, 2016

For as long as I can remember, Puma has been a firm favorite of mine. While my first pair of sneakers were from Fila (tennis lessons for kids can be interesting), I bought my second online (years ago) from Puma. There was something about a white pair of nifty sneakers with an elongated blue swish and an air-borne puma that intrigued me.

When my package arrived, I opened it with bated breath and the sneakers turned out to be perfect. Hurray for experiencing zero disappointed from an online purchase! I wore those sneakers regularly, much to mum's confusion, "Do you not have other shoes?". Eventually, I went on to buy a chromium Puma ring, which to this day is intact and I still wear it, on and off. It's one of those rings that is a favorite because firstly, its Puma and second, I bought it even though it didn't quite fit my finger, Don't judge me. I have a tendency to buy rings and then make them fit my finger (don't ask how). Besides, the ring was awfully wonderful to let go of. And it was the only one left.

Puma also happens to be the official kit provider of my favorite football club, Arsenal. I tell you, it was meant to be. For some odd reason, it gives me a sense of pride when I watch the Gunners racing past their opponents wearing a Puma manufactured kit.

Elie Saab: Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

I have no words to describe this collection (I was left speechless previously). Beyond incredible. You'll feel like royalty wearing them. Elie Saab's Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2014 Collection has his trademark elements- gowns with embroidery and lace that come together effortlessly. This collection features a palette of pale blues, soft reds and beige, elegant blacks and ethereal whites.

I've picked my favorites, so I'll let the pictures do the talking. I'll have you know that my future birthday dress  is the first pic you see below. How gorgeous is it?

And if I ever need an outfit change on my b'day, then this is the gown that will make its appearance. Incredibly beautiful!

And of course, the show stopper: the magnificent wedding gown. It's breathtaking and even prettier than the one featured in his Haute Couture SS'12 Collection.

Sometimes I wish I had royal blood running in my veins...just so I could get access to Elie Saab's collections way before anyone else does.

Which one's your favorite?

Wishlist: Clutches and Bags

Thursday, March 27, 2014

This year's Paris Fashion Week witnessed an abundance of gorgeous accessories and some 'what-is-that?' moments. Being a handbag addict (does a Handbags Anonymous therapy session exist?), a handful of bags and clutches landed on my wishlist including the jeweled clutches from Dior.

This has to be the most gorgeous Chanel bag ever.

The neon Giambattista Valli bag- the color does all the talking.

The grey version looks pretty good too. It would look amazing against a cobalt blue outfit.

Love this teal colored Elie Saab beauty.

Cobalt blue is a color that's slowly becoming my favorite. This Roland Mouret clutch with contrasts is just about perfect.

I saved the best for the last. Dior's jeweled clutches are incredible.

And that's a wrap! Out of all, I love the Dior clutches and aiming to check them out once they are in store.

Got a favorite?

Wishlist: Michael Kors & Loeffler Randall Polka Dots

Monday, March 10, 2014

I love polka dots. They've been spotted in the latest Spring/Summer collection of several brands including D&G (have you seen their polka dot maxi dress?).

I was browsing random sites when I stumbled upon a stash of Michael Kors goodies and these 4 have made it to my wishlist.

Shop the bag, iPhone case, white and black wallets.

And then I spotted these Loeffler Randall flats from the 2013 collection- how totally gorgeous? Unfortunately, I can't locate it on their website.

And my wishlist grows...

Elie Saab: Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

Thursday, January 23, 2014

I'm a bit surprised that my first post for this year starts off with one dedicated to one of my favorite designers, Elie Saab.

I love almost every piece from his collections and the Haute Couture SS '14 makes me want to say yes to a wedding invitation I received, don an Elie Saab gown and overshadow the bride. Evil, I know. But that's the effect Elie Saab creations have over me (and I'm assuming over other girls too). It makes you feel like you got royal blood flowing in your veins. Saab's creations make you feel like a princess. Gowns made out of the best fabric, the fit, the fall, the intricate details...his gowns command attention.

Elie Saab's Haute Couture SS'14 featured a palette of ocean blues, glamorous blacks, soft lilacs, pristine whites, not to mention his signature feature of flowers and smooth fabric that add a delicate touch  to every piece.

Here are the exquisite gowns from the glorious collection.

Here's the show stopper- a bridal gown reminiscent of the designer's Spring 2013 Couture Collection. I personally, liked the version that featured dashes of pink

While I love this collection (please, give me a piece of everything, save for the bridal gown), the following are my absolute favorites.

If I had to choose one gown from this collection, this would be it. I'm blown over by the color and design. It is incredibly beautiful...I am speechless.
