Review: Benefit Cosmetics Hello Flawless Liquid Foundation

Saturday, May 19, 2012

I first heard about Benefit Cosmetics' liquid foundation while browsing Sephora.com. I read the features about the newly launched foundation and a few customer reviews and I couldn't wait to try it. I love Benefit as a brand; I talk about my best purchase, Benetint all the time (ask my friends!). It's my favorite product. Read the review here.

So back to Benefit's foundation. It's called Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow. Key benefits include:
  • Oil free: This makes it suitable for people with oily skin.
  • SPF 25: Hello in-built sun-screen! We definitely need this in Dubai's unforgiving scorching summer season.
  • PA+++: This is a UV filter (ultra violet rays filter) and is of the highest grade, which is a good thing.
  • Vitamin C & E: Yay for vitamins in skincare products!
The best part of this foundation? Okay, 2 best parts: it is a hydrating product. It moisturizes while doing its job. And second- it has sparse microscopic shimmer that gives you a luminous look.

When it comes to coverage- it is all about light to medium. The product is build-able i.e. if you want full coverage, you will need to use at least 2-3 full pumps of the foundation and then seal it with either loose powder OR the powder version of the foundation (also called Hello Flawless). For me, just one pump works as I don't use heavy foundation and prefer mine to be almost sheer.

Tip: Use Benefit's POREfessional prior to using the foundation. POREfessional comes handy for people with large pores as it minimizes the appearance of such and preps the skin for a smooth application- it's like a primer. It also helps control shine. I don't have a problem with pores but using this product helped the foundation to glide on real smooth. Will review it soon.

I really like Hello Flawless for the natural finished look it delivers. It's like a tinted moisturizer that is light and does not suffocate your skin. I love such foundations.

It comes in 9 different shades from light to dark and is available at Sephora and Faces. Ask the lady at the counter to apply POREfessional and the foundation on the whole of your face. You will see the difference then  and will be able to make a better decision (please do not test any foundation on the back of your hand, this is not the right way to select your shade).

Thank you to the Benefit team for introducing me to this and other star products. I think Hello Flawless has become my second favorite Benefit product!

I didnt know this foundation was available in Dubai. I've been using their powder foundation and it has done me good. I shall check out their liquid one as well. Hope it is as good as the powdered foundation.

How much ml is this product? When will they bring the Brow Bars in Dubai?

Hi Maitha. You can use this for your skin type. Just make sure you moisturize prior to applying any kind of makeup.

omg i love your blog!!!!!!!! plzzzz do more benefit reviews..i love benefit so much!! i want to ask does this foundation oxidize after applying on the skin?

Neelofer said...

Hi Dima- no, this foundation does not oxidize. I suggest you pay a visit to Sephora (or any store that stocks Benefit) and test the product on your skin in order to get the perfect match. The foundation bottle also protects the product from any reactions due to sun exposure. Hope this helps.
