Benefit Cosmetics decided to up their game when it comes to the anti-shine party. After the success of the popular Porefessional Balm, the brand gives us Porefessional Shine Vanishing Pro Powder, a light-weight powder that promises to minimize the appearance of pores and control shine.
The Porefessional Pro Powder comes with an in-built brush attached to the package thereby making it easy for touch-ups on the go. While the powder has a slight beige tint to it, it is translucent in nature i.e. it won't add color to your face. This reminds me of the Porefessional balm; it looks beige but goes on translucent.
You use this product the same way you would use the balm. Apply either after moisturizing your skin and before makeup or over makeup. I don't have oily skin or battle with shine, so I gave this to my cousin for a test drive.
After using it, she reported that the powder gives a matte appearance when applied, minimizes the uneven appearance on the forehead, does a great job at concealing pores and in general leaves skin looking smooth.
She uses the Porefessional Balm from time to time however, she said that the powder is much better and can be used individually. While Benefit Cosmetics states to use the balm and powder in conjunction, my cousin used the powder right after applying foundation.
She did have to touch-up after about 5 hours or so and the in-built brush is a bonus. The Porefessional Pro Powder will also come handy for those who experience minimal shine on the T-zone area.
I would recommend using the duo i.e. the balm and the powder together when it comes to extremely oily skin. The rest can do with the powder alone.
