IGN Con 2014 And A Giveaway

I love how the UAE hosts games and comic cons. It gives gamers like me an opportunity to explore everything I love about the gaming and comics sphere under one roof.

Apart from Halo, Tomb Raider, Need For Speed (and some old favorites Quake, Unreal Tournament, GTA etc), I'm obsessed love Warcraft. There used to be a time when I'd glue myself to the computer chair for 5 hours straight playing the game day after day, much to the frustration of my parents ("You haven't eaten anything!"). The other day I walked into Kinokuniya, Dubai Mall and purchased a World of Warcraft calendar because of the incredible artwork (I also happen to sketch). The year is approaching its end and I have yet to make use of the calendar. On that note, I'm on the lookout for a laptop, ideally one that hosts a separate memory and graphics card to be used for my everyday requirements and gaming. Let me know if you have any recommendations (open budget).

Having said that, here's something new- the IGN Convention taking place in Dubai, UAE. I associate IGN (and Gamespot) with the best info on games primarily because they were my destination for info and updates when I first forayed into gaming as a kid.

The IGN Con, a 2 day event not only brings together the universe of  comics, games and movies but also Kristian Nairn from Game of Thrones, Troy Baker, the voice behind the characters in Batman: Arkham City, Resident Evil 6 etc., female cosplayer, Riddle, local and regional talent as well. In addition to this, there are a host of activities including arcade and card games, free workshops, video games exhibition, comics zone.

The IGN Convention takes place on the 21st and 22nd of November 2014, from 12pm-10pm at the Mina Seyahi Hall, Dubai International Marine Club.
