Beauty Launch: Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara

Monday, October 31, 2016

Rimmel is one of those drugstore English brands that keeps churning out one good product after the other. My love affair with Rimmel first began years ago when I was gifted the Exaggerate eyeliner and the Kate Moss approved Long Lasting lipstick.

I used those two products religiously considering they were the first few makeup products in my arsenal. That beauty kit has now changed and expanded but my love for Rimmel stays constant. I particularly love their eye shadows, eyeliners and lipsticks (although I'm a matte fan, I can do with a little shine and gloss every now and then). And of course, no eye look is complete without a mascara.

To celebrate the launch of their latest Scandaleyes Reloaded mascara, they tapped into the girl who brought back strong eyebrows, Cara Delevingne. I love this girl's unique look and so thankful that she was brave enough to walk around with power eyebrows. She makes a fitting choice as Rimmel's brand ambassador!

The mascara's tube is quite chunky (most of Rimmel's mascaras are) but the best part about this mascara is the bristles. They feature a perfect shape and the formula will work best for women who have thinner lashes as opposed to those that sport naturally lush ones (it will work perfectly fine for the latter, just that they wont require as many coats).

The product features a glossy (wet) formula and you will have to wait until he first coat dries completely before going in with the next as opposed to waiting a few seconds when it comes to other mascaras.

While Scandaleyes Reloaded coats the lashes well, I've noticed you require at least 3 coats for a decent finish. The first coat pretty much delivers on a natural look, apt for the day. Load it up for a truly 'scandaleyes' look.

True to its word, Scandaleyes Reloaded delivers a clump-free and fall-out free result and will leave your peepers looking glamorous. The bonus? It contains keratin to strengthen the lashes and collagen for the extra boost.

When it comes down to removal, I'm happy to confirm that the formula dissolves with makeup remover (I use Bioderma's popular Sensibio H20). I give extra points to a mascara that eliminates my time spent in painstakingly removing every bit of the product off my lashes.

The smudge and sweat proof mascara is the new kid on the block and has my seal of approval.

The Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded mascara is available at key retailers across the UAE.
